East Coast Medical
About us
History
East Coast Medical started out in the late 1980’s as a service company, acting as a service provider for various equipment suppliers who needed the services of experienced biomedical engineers.
Our first major agency that we looked after, was the Critikon range of monitors - the product being represented by Johnson & Johnson in those days. To list further products that we supported would require quite a bit of band width, so we will leave that out for the time being, however we would like to state that there is very little equipment (apart from imaging equipment), that we were not familiar with.
Over the years, we still supported equipment that was left high and dry, with no company selling the products due to closures, mergers and loss of interest. As the service provider, we made contact with the manufacturers, and gradually built up a range of quality products.
We also sourced some products that complemented our range of equipment, with the main emphasis being that the equipment must be technically sound, and have good technical back-up to maintain our reputation of a company that can support our products that we sell.
We continually transfer skills to new biomedical technicians that we employ, and can proudly state that there are a number of technicians / engineers in the field that are a great asset to South Africa - having been assisted by East Coast Medical to become an outstanding, skilled member of our chosen field.
